Install the Wakora agent on macOS
Both Intel and Apple Silicon builds are published, and the installer picks the right one.
The agent runs as a launchd daemon.
Install
curl -fsSL https://get.wakora.io | bash -s -- --key <YOUR_TEAM_KEY>
The installer re-elevates itself through sudo if needed, verifies the download (macOS
ships an OpenSSL that can check the ed25519 signature on recent versions; older ones use
the ECDSA co-signature), installs /usr/local/bin/wakora, registers the host and installs
the daemon io.wakora.agent under /Library/LaunchDaemons with KeepAlive, so it comes
back after a crash and after a reboot.
What the agent finds on a Mac
- host metrics: load, memory pressure and swap, uptime, every mounted disk;
- processes, listening ports, Homebrew packages, launchd services, and the machine identity from the platform UUID;
- services from the catalog that run on the machine (a local nginx, a PostgreSQL from Homebrew, Docker Desktop is not covered because its engine runs inside a VM).
Verify
wakora doctor
sudo launchctl print system/io.wakora.agent
tail -f /var/log/wakora/agent.log
Notes
- Self-update downloads the build for the Mac's own architecture, so an Intel Mac never receives the Apple Silicon binary or the other way round.
- CPU percentage, memory usage percentage and network throughput on macOS need the build variant that links against the system frameworks. The build published in the channel today reports load, memory pressure, swap, uptime and disks; the three metrics above arrive when that variant ships through the channel.
wakora uninstallremoves the daemon withlaunchctl bootoutand wipes the agent's files. See Uninstall.
